What Affects the Cost of Breast Augmentation?

At your initial consultation, our patient coordinator will provide an individualized quote for surgery. The cost of your breast augmentation will include the surgeon's fee, anesthesiologist's fee, facility fee, and implant fee. Here is a closer look at three significant cost factors:

Surgeon

Surgical Techniques

We offer a range of incision and placement techniques. Some techniques are more complex by nature and therefore are more costly than others.

Breast Implant Benefits

Boosted Confidence

Breast augmentation does more than make you look great; it makes you feel great, too. After breast surgery, patients exude confidence and feel more comfortable and proud of the skin they're in.

Improved Appearance

Breast implants can address a range of concerns, including the size, shape, and symmetry of breasts. After breast augmentation, you can enjoy a full, voluptuous bustline that beautifully complements the rest of your body.

Enhanced Femininity

Breast implants can make you feel significantly more feminine, sexy, and empowered.

New Clothing Options

Have you always wanted to wear a plunging top or strapless bikini, but didn't have the chest for it? Breast augmentation will enable you to wear the clothes you've always desired, and they'll hug your body in all the right places.

Choose From Saline or Silicone Implants Understanding Your Options

The breast augmentation procedure involves placing either a saline or a silicone implant into the breast to change its size and shape. Dr. Smart can help you decide which type of implant best fits your goals, gives you the most natural results, and ensures that you enjoy all the possible benefits of breast augmentation. Most saline and silicone implants are placed under the muscle.

Silicone Implants

Implants filled with silicone gel closely resemble the look and feel of natural breast tissue. Silicone breast implants are made in a variety of shapes, sizes, and densities, providing many options to suit different frames and preferences. However, there is more risk involved if a rupture occurs.

Saline Implants

Saline implants are filled with sterile salt water. These breast implants can be inserted as empty shells, making it easy to create your desired shape. Because they are filled after insertion, they also require smaller incisions, which means less discomfort and scarring after surgery.

Customized Enhancement for Natural-Looking Results

/

In addition to materials, implants differ in their texture, size, shape, and projection. Implants are available in low, moderate, and high projection, depending upon the type of enhancement you desire and your anatomy. Many of our patients prefer the projection of a high-profile implant, though moderate profile implants are a popular choice among patients with a small or narrow chest. Dr. Smart will help you find the right implant for you.

Types of Incisions

Thanks to his more than two decades of experience and advanced training, Dr. Smart is able to take several different approaches to breast augmentation. During your consultation, he will discuss the different incision options and determine which method is right for you. Factors we will consider include your anatomy, the kind of implant you choose, and your personal preference.

Our plastic surgeon serving Frisco, Plano, and North Texas places breast implants through three different incision locations:

Periareolar incision pattern

Periareolar

This incision is made around the areola. It is a popular location among patients because the scar is almost unnoticeable once it heals.

Inframammary incision pattern

Inframammary

Located at the bottom of the breasts, this incision is camouflaged very well and can be easily hidden with a swimsuit.

Transaxillary incision pattern

Transaxillary

If you don't want any incisions or scars on your breasts, Dr. Smart can make transaxillary incisions in your armpit.

The Risks of Breast Augmentation Surgery

Like any plastic surgery, breast augmentation involves a few risks. By choosing an experienced, board-certified surgeon like Dr. Smart, you greatly reduce your chances of experiencing serious issues. Dr. Smart will discuss these with you in-depth at your consultation to ensure you make a fully informed decision:

Complications

Breast implants run the risk of rupturing or deflating over time. There is also the risk of unexpected bleeding, infections, or swelling during recovery.

Capsular Contracture

Capsular contracture occurs when scar tissue forms around the implant, causing it to become hard and painful. If this happens, the implant will need to be removed.

Sensation

Having breast implants can change the way your breasts or nipples feel. Patients may lose sensation or feel pain in these areas.

Future Surgery

Breast implants do not last forever. Implants last an average of 10–20 years before they need replacing.
